What Photos Can You Create With a Kit Lens?

Photo gear is quite expensive, and tricking out your kit can be a serious hit to your bank account. And yet, we often chase that next new piece of gear in the hopes of getting better image quality. And while new equipment can do that, you might be surprised by how much you can accomplish with basic equipment. This great video shows you the fantastic photos you can create using nothing more than a kit lens.

Coming to you from Mike Smith, this awesome video shows what you can accomplish with a kit lens. Landscape photography is a particularly good genre for working with a kit lens, as its focal lengths generally suit the images, you do not need a wide aperture, and fast autofocus is not necessary. This is part of what makes it such a great genre in which to learn the basics of photography like how shutter speed, aperture, and ISO work together, as you do not need advanced or specialized equipment to do it. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Smith.
