Learn How to Create This Three-Light Setup for Featuring a Model's Physique

While you can do a lot with natural light, the beauty of mastering artificial light is having the ability to craft your setup to exactly match your creative thoughts and technical needs. This great video tutorial will show you how to craft a three-light setup that is made to feature your model's physique.

Coming to you from John Gress, this awesome video tutorial will show you how he created a three-light setup with the intention of featuring his model's physique. One thing to note as Gress breaks down the setup is how he separates the lights and builds out the setup bit by bit. It is important to learn artificial lighting with just a single light to start, as you will want to master the fundamentals, such as subject-to-source distance, hard and soft light, and more. Once you master those and move on to multi-light setups, however, it still helps to build them out light by light. You will notice that pros typically meter and test each light one by one, as this allows them to adjust things more easily without having to try to figure out which light is causing which issue. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Gress.
