Later Is Officially an Instagram Partner: Better Integration for You

Later Is Officially an Instagram Partner: Better Integration for You

Later recently released the ability through the API permissions granted by Instagram to automatically post your content without using the push-notification, copy-and-paste method that was all hated but reluctantly accepted as our best option.

Analytics Is Only the Beginning

Analytics are announced as being available through this change but the real power here is that by working with Instagram instead of being forced into workarounds, the level of seamless integration will only improve.

Photographers especially are used to workarounds for all kinds of different limitations, so it may not seem like that big of a deal but it is. I am very particular about things working smooth and efficient. Just because something can be done a certain way doesn't mean it's not better to do it a more seamless and smooth way.

Later has been my choice for quite some time now for Instagram posting and this news only solidifies the longevity of the Later platform and that's excellent news for the future. When I had compared Later's interface with Hootsuite, I had quickly found that Later's interface was a superior user experience by leaps and bounds. Both tools were able to get the job done, but the finesse wasn't even close.

We'll keep a close watch on the new features that become available with this new tighter integration.

Apparently, knowledge of the program "Later" is a prerequisite for reaching this article. I have been on IG for several years and I have no idea what this article is even about.

Agreed, not the best written article. Later, formerly Latergramme, is/was a relatively simple way of transferring photos from your desktop to Instagram. Essentially you'd pick a date/time you want to post a photo, add your caption/hashtags, and then wait. When the date/time arrived, you'd receive a notification on your phone from Later that it was time to post. It would copy your caption/hashtags to your clipboard, then take the photo to Instagram where you'd go through the usual process of posting a photo.

Apparently now instead of having to manually go through the motions of posting at said date/time, Later will do it automatically.

I prefer www.pixrit.com myself
