Fstoppers Photographer of the Month (October 2020): Kevin Morefield

The Fstoppers community is brimming with creative vision and talent. Every day, we comb through your work, looking for images to feature as the Photo of the Day or simply to admire your creativity and technical prowess. In 2020, we're featuring a new photographer every month, whose portfolio represents both stellar photographic achievement and a high level of involvement within the Fstoppers community.

This month's winner is Kevin Morefield! His work is notable for its technical excellence and jaw-dropping elegance. Be sure to check out our favorite shots of his below and give him a follow to see his full portfolio. He's now in the running for Fstoppers Community Photographer of the Year!

How to Be Chosen

At the end of the year, the Fstoppers Community Photographer of the Year will be chosen from the 12 monthly winners, with the overall winner getting a tutorial of their choice from the Fstoppers store. Be sure to share your photos in the Fstoppers community

As a reformed astrophotographer, this is some nice work! Great choice.

David, I hope you will un-reform and bring your skills back to AP!

This is a bit shocking to me as I'm so consistently awed by the images I see from the Fstoppers community. Thanks so much for the encouragement!

My wife asked me if I'd ever go back to astro-imaging. The only way I'd do it now would be to have a rather large piggy bank so that I could set up a remote observatory in New Mexico or Arizona. My frustration came in the form of having many nights messed up by the weather.

While most of these images are from my backyard, I also keep a large scope in a shared remote site in the Sierras. There are quite a few opportunities to lease space in these types of facilities. Starts around $500 a month now.
