This portrait was taken last summer in Rantepao surroundings of Sulawesi island. That was the first time I've seen final step of rice production when farmers take bunch of rice plant and smash it against the wooden box to separate seeds from the plant itself. I squeezed my camera into that box for a better composition and started to shoot using live view with manual focusing. As language barrier didn't let us communicate properly, all we did was laughing to each other and all I got away with was her name and her portrait. Next day I discovered that rice dust that coming from the plant makes your skin extremely itchy after the contact with it. That's why farmers fully cover their bodies with clothes while working with rice at this stage.
