Novice Monk.

February 8, 2018

U Bein Bridge near Mandalay in Myanmar is considered to be the longest teakwood bridge in the world. This place attracts quite a few tourists and local people all year around. As sun was setting down I was wondering around with my camera and off camera flash when I spot a monk enjoying the sunset on the bench. I asked if I could take a portrait of him while he is doing whatever he was doing. He didn't mind.

There is something about him being young and a monk that makes this photo for me. Of course I know that there are young monks but when I think of a monk I think of an older person. Really like how the color of his robe is complimented by the color of the sky.

Did you have to perform any corrections for lens distortion?

Denis Hedone's picture

Distortion wasn't that bad on this image as the subject is pretty much in the middle of the frame, but I still used Capture One Pro lens correction tool to correct minor distortion in the corners.
