Star Ferry by night.

June 10, 2018

The fleet of twelve Star ferries operates two routes across the harbour, carrying over 70,000 passengers a day. In other words 26 million people a year. I took this ferry several times, despite the existing tunnels crossing the bay to connect Kowloon and Hong Kong island.
Especially, during my second visit of the city, I frequently used the Star ferry for commuting. It's just more exciting to see an illuminated skyline than crossing a dark grey tunnel. Hence, it is no surprise that, the Star Ferry has been rated first in the “Top 10 Most Exciting Ferry Rides” poll by the Society of American Travel Writers (“SATW”) in February 2009.
For a before-and-after comparison, head over to my website:
I combined several pictures manually to get the best quality result of this scenery.
