Kate by Regan Shorter

I messaged Kate late last night asking if I could take a portrait of her with her new haircut. I only have a week left in Oklahoma and Kate is taking part in recruitment, so time was tight. She graciously fit me in this morning for a quick shoot and I'm so happy with the photos! This is my absolute favorite of the bunch. Her cut and her effortless style remind me so much of Audrey Hepburn and I'm so thankful she let me capture all of her beauty this morning!

Recently, I put together some small v-flats made from foam board that was on sale at Walmart. I've been frustrated with these guys because I didn't properly prime with them the spray paint and they ended up uneven (even after 3 layers of paint). However, I think the unevenness added depth to this that I really like. In the end, my biggest frustration turned into something I love!

I was expecting it to be sunny this morning, like usual, but I woke up to overcast clouds as I headed to campus to meet Kate, one of my sorority sisters. We had planned on shooting indoors in front of a window, but instead headed outside to the front of our library.
