The Reborn City

January 27, 2019

Theaterplatz, Dresden, Germany From the "Florence of the Elbe", as it was called, the city of Dresden was tottaly destroyed after WWII and much of it was subsequently reconstructed. The heart of Dresden is still a cluster of Baroque churches and the Rococo-style buildings on the south bank of the Elbe, in the old city. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, unfortunately the city lost the title in 2009 due to the construction of the Waldschlösschen Bridge.
