On my way to the normal sunrise spot I spotted buffleheads at the boat landing. I hadn't seen or photographed them since a few years back at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park on the North Shore. I bought some camo netting to wear over me like a blanket and I think it helped a little, although I'm not really sure how skiddish these buddies normally are. There were about 6 Buffleheads at the boat landing and on Lake Wissota I counted 12 Horned Grebe, 4 Blue-winged Teal, a couple Common Loons, and maybe 60 or so American Coots.
Shot with the Canon 7D Mark II and Canon 500mm f/4L IS USM with the 1.4x III Extender. Raw processing in DPP4.
