Melting by Heiko Knoll

April 30, 2019

By March, most of the snow in the lower regions of the mountains has almost completely melted away, thus making it possible to go biking again. One one of my first bike tours, I took this picture of the base of a tree covered with most while the reminaing snow formed a circular ring at the bottom. In the original RAW-file, the ground is still littered with twigs and branches which I removed in post. I tilted the image upwards since I shot from a lower position, also I added the "sunshine" effect of Nik-Software, which gives the image the slight hazy / soft look. Color temperature lowered to increase the "cold" feeling. Nikon D750, 24-70mm
