A pair of hoodies saw me and didn't fly away! It was already a miracle; these fellers are real skiddish. They swam to the other end of the pond and around a bend which gave me time to lay down and get prepared. After five or ten minutes sure enough they came back around. Buuuut the way I was laying turned out to be a big problem... I couldn't really see them in the viewfinder because of the awkward angle I was laying in. I could only kind of tell they were in focus with my peripheral vision but had no clue on what poses I was shooting. I had to spray and pray which just can't work with skiddish birds because the more the mirror flaps the closer they are to leaving. Unfortunately most of the shots were bad head angles and preening.
