At this hour in Sunriver, Oregon, the dew in the field was being evaporated and made clear images almost impossible when shooting from a distance away. I had some frames with two coyotes and this female harrier together, but they were completely blurry from the distortion. Fortunately I have a couple photos that I was able to salvage because who doesn’t love these owl-faced hawks?
Captured with the Sony a7R IV and Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS on August 14, 2019 at 8:31 AM. I used AF-C mode and multi-segment metering. Auto WB setting.
Raw processed in Lightroom. Cloned out a barbed wire fence to help simplify the image. Cropped from horizontal frame.
