This perch receives magical light for a short five minutes each day before the sun sets below a tree-topped hill behind the camera. It’s never a given that anything will land in such a short window of time. That’s why I’m ecstatic that a Black-and-white Warbler flew in and called in the last 30 seconds before the light fully disappeared here.
Captured with the Sony a7R III and Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM + Sigma MC-11 on August 30, 2019 at 7:18 PM. I used AF-C mode and multi-segment metering. Small flexible spot AF area with Real-time Eye AF for Animals activated. Daylight WB setting.
Raw processed in Lightroom. Cropped from horizontal fame.
