LOVE this image; the subject, staging, and atmosphere. I had an immediate sense of traditional still-life, of antique, of natural light.

That sense was only tempered by the digital sharpness, the high value of the light reflection in the scale pan (and the blue tone Vs the warmer tone of the rest of the image), and the chroma of the orange in the gourd (though that will differ with monitor calibration). It appears as if there was intentional post-process sparing of the gourd and the scale pan to settle the eye. My sense of traditional might have been more complete if there was more consistent tone treatment. With consistent tone, the sharpness might not have been notable and served to settle the eye on its own.

Thank you very much for your detailed comment. It is very helpful especially since I am new to still life photography and any input is appreciated. Until now I did mostly wildlife and macro photography where the light kind of is what it is.
