Boats in Aveiro were used in the past for transporting goods and catching seaweed. Today they have lost these original functions and serve mainly as a tourist attraction. All Moliceiros are decorated with multicolored paintings depicting the history and culture of the region. Unfortunately, no guidebook describes the meaning of these paintings.
