Hi Harry,

Nice picture!

If you took it here in Michigan, I would say it was an Ebony Jewelwing (Calopterix maculata), a type of damselfly. The males are the ones with the electric blue and green colors. The females are bronze colored and have more transparent wings with white spots. A beautiful insect (unless you are one of the smaller crane flies, beetles or mosquitos it feeds on).
