The Bogue Inlet Pier in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. I've made a tradition out of going to this location on the Friday after Thanksgiving. This past year I tried my hand at doing a "day to night" image Stephen Wilkes style. Only I just shot for a couple of hours instead of all day.
This shot was one of the images I used in my "day to night" transition shot, which you can see on my profile if you're interested. However, I thought this image was just too good and needed to be showcased all by itself. It's probably better than the day to night honestly. I mean the sky is just fantastic.
Fall is the best time for sunsets on Emerald Isle. The sun sets directly into the ocean. Which is rare for an east coast island. And it can create some epic conditions.
