This is The Portrait Of A Man who as a child had to endure the segregated south before being sent to California to avoid being lynched because he wouldn't "Stay in his place" This is The Portrait Of A Man who began working at the age of 13 only to father his first child at this early stage of life. This is The Portrait Of A Man who was told by the woman he loved that she no longer wanted him or their 6-month old son in her life and that he would have to raise him on his own as she had him escorted away by the sheriff, only to find out that she loved another. This is The Portrait Of A Man so kind, so caring, and so dedicated that he never turned his back on his son even after his son told him he hated him, even after his son denied him as his father in front of others. This is a portrait of my Dad, the man who even though we battled homelessness, living in motels, welfare and at times only having beans and rice to eat would make sure I had a wonderful birthday's and christmases a man who would come to the neighborhood to find me in my teenage years and drag me home not caring one bit what my Gang banging homies had to say about it. This is a portrait of my dad, my hero, my God send, my heart. This is a portrait of a man who asks for so little but deserves the world...This is The Portrait Of A Man.
