How to Create Eye-catching Portraits Using Fallen Leaves

Autumn is just about over, and though the leaves are no longer on the trees, that does not mean we do not have any use for them anymore. If you gather a pile of leaves and bring them into your studio, you have a wonderful prop for a wide variety of portrait looks with all the control of studio lighting. This great video tutorial will show you how to take fallen leaves and turn them into an eye-catching and versatile props for studio portraits.

Coming to you from Gavin Hoey with Adorama TV, this helpful video tutorial will show you how to turn fallen leaves into props for studio portraits. The one bit of advice I would give you is to simply check the leaves carefully before you bring them inside. Once they have been on the ground for more than a day or so, it is not unusual for insects or other little critters to make a home in them, and you do not want an unintended infestation or nasty surprise for your subject! Also, get more leaves than you think you need, as you will probably destroy them after using them a few times, and, of course, once winter comes, you're out of luck until next year. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Hoey.
