One of the Greatest Street Photographers of All Time, and One of the Least Known

With a staggering and well received portfolio, one New York street photographer seemed to fall through the cracks of photographic history, which was a wholly undeserved end to her career.

I first heard the name Helen Levitt about 8 or 9 years ago through an incidental article suggestion. Her street photography of mid-20th century New York is captivating and I was thrilled to learn that a Kickstarter campaign to make a documentary on Levitt was fully funded in 2012. Interestingly, I can't seem to find how I can possibly view this documentary, and the last update on it was in 2015! I did, however, manage to find the trailer:

If anyone has any luck finding the full-length documentary and where to buy it (the official website has no mention of how to watch it that I can see), please contact me or leave it in the comments below.

Levitt's work is just beautiful. I have a penchant for street photography, and the earlier it dates back, the better. I know I'm not alone in this. Levitt captured the melting pot of cultural diversity that is New York with staggeringly strong composition, and engaging use of light and color.

What little-known photographers do you think need more recognition.
