Bayou Angel

To see beauty through all the dirt and through all the grime, is a gift to the eyes. Fix your eyes on the beauty inside things and throw away your exterior judgments. We are not books. Don't judge us by our covers.

This photo was taken in July of 2014 in Vivian, LA. The model in the image is Riclyn Sherman and she and I are very good friends. We got together early one morning with no plans or expectations of the day and decided to do a photoshoot with the goal to create art together.

We found our way to a river and located a dock. We started messing with the moss hanging from the trees and gathered some from the ground. As we joked about covering her in mud, Riclyn said, what the heck lets do it. So After covering her in mud and dirt loved the texture of it so I decided to have her lay down while I methodically placed the moss around her.

I stood right over her on the steps of the dock with my Canon 6D and 85mm 1.2 and shot away. The image is completely editted in Lightroom 4.
