First light on the South Downs, UK

Taken at first light after a 4:30am alarm call, the aim was to show the overlapping layers in the landscape. I am definitely a stranger to getting up this early but with the encouragement of a friend, I dragged myself out of bed and it was so worth it.

Lightly processed in LR, with further editing in Photoshop- I prefer a subtle, clean touch.

Am I bitten by the early-riser bug? Maybe- if it gets me more photos like this.

Very nice but I prefer it if you would crop it just above the first two trees on the upper right. Try it and tell me what you think.

Thanks- I think this removes some interest from the background (especially the windmill) and makes you want to leave the scene too quickly.

Amazing photo. Where precisely did you take it? I'm on the North downs and have similar 4:30am aspirations (work in progress) and am trying to generate a shortlist of locations - new camera in-hand so keen to give it a go so any suggestions would be really helpful.
