For the yet unreleased October 'survival' issue of Backpacker magazine, adventure photographer, Bud Force, decided instead of having a model dangling perilously off of a cliff that he would do a creative composite. He shot the background at 'El Capitan' peak in Guadalupe Moutains National Park and the subject at Mineral Wells State Park.
A reporter and photographer for GlobalPost.com, Tracey Shelton, earlier this week caught some unbelievable footage of some men of the Noor Den al-Zenke batallion from Aleppo, Syria being hit by a tank's shell. She released a quick series of screenshots from the footage as photographs today. The photos are an incredible and quite horrific example of war.
Earlier today news broke out about Nokia and their Lumia 920 simulation video not being exactly forthright. The video before the shameful reveal had no indication that it wasn't filmed with the actual product that it was marketing. When reddit.com users got their hands on the video they quickly noticed that the reflection in the video is not of a person filming with a mobile phone on a bicycle, but of a man in a van with what looks to be at least a DSLR sized camera with what seems to be some type of Gyro-stabilization system.

We've heard of entire theatrical films being shot with DSLRs before, but what about stop motion masterpieces? Usually they're handled by bigger guns like the RED EPIC, or IMAX cameras. 'ParaNorman', a stop motion animation film was released a few weeks ago. The film used over sixty Canon 5d Mark IIs to capture the 400,000 frames needed to create the movie. Since the movie was shot in stereoscopic 3D, the camera had to shoot both on the left and right side of the puppets.
