Ill-Matched Song Choice in Official 'Murder on the Orient Express' Movie Trailer Spurs Parodies

It’s moviemaking 101: make sure the music used in a film is compatible with the emotion that is being conveyed on screen. Today, the official trailer for the upcoming film “Murder on the Orient Express” was released and immediately viewers took note of the peculiarly bad selection of soundtrack. One Reddit user took it upon themselves to show us just how much worse it could have been.

Google Abandons Nik Collection Photo Editing Plugins

In another classic tale of a large company purchasing out a beloved product only to abandon it, Google is now dropping development of Nik Collection. After Google bought out Nik in 2012, they made all the Collection plugins free last year and have incorporated some of its features into their Snapseed mobile app. Sadly, a new notice posted on the Nik Collection website informs us it’s the end of an era.

The Must-Have U.S. National Park Travel Guide for Photographers: 'Treasured Lands'

In 2002, QT Luong became the first person to photograph all U.S. National Parks with a large-format camera. His experience in traveling these beautiful, natural lands is simply inspiring. He was even a featured artist in the epic Ken Burns documentary, “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.” With all his knowledge and stories gained from decades of creating stunning imagery across the United States, I feel fortunate that Luong authored his photography book, “Treasured Lands.”

First Look: Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 G Master and FE 12-24mm f/4 G Wide-Angle Lenses

A new month brings a new Sony announcement, or at least that’s the way it seems to be going as of late. I’m not complaining. The company has been noticeably scrappy for the past two years in an attempt to take over the interchangeable lens camera market, largely based on releasing innovation after innovation one right after another. Today’s announcement brings a satisfying completion to the “trinity” of G Master full-frame lenses with the FE 16–35mm f/2.8 GM, along with a new ultra-wide-angle G Series lens, the FE 12–24mm f/4 G. I had a chance to shoot with both lenses yesterday, so read on for my initial findings.

Don't Leave Behind Your Sense of Adventure in the Age of Google

I'm guilty of it. Are you? Have you ever heard about a cool place nearby, and the photographer inside you can't help but search Google Images for it to see if it's photogenic? Based on a few photos you see that were taken there, you decide right then whether or not it's worth your time to check out. Couldn't this actually be a huge disservice to yourself in the pursuit of creativity?
