How to Use a Standard Zoom Lens for Landscape Photography

The standard zoom lens (24-70mm) is one of the most practical and versatile out there, able to tackle a wide range of applications with ease, including landscape photography. This great video tutorial features an experienced landscape photographer sharing how he uses a standard zoom for his own work.

Coming to you from Mads Peter Iversen, this excellent video tutorial discusses how to use a standard zoom (24-70mm) lens for landscape photography. While the 24-70mm f/2.8 is the standard workhorse of choice for many genres, I think it is worth pointing out that you likely do not need that f/2.8 aperture for landscape work. You can save both significant money and bulk by opting for a 24-70mm f/4 lens, or you can instead choose a 24-105mm f/4 if you want a little extra reach and versatility. In fact, the 24-70mm f/4 lens is typically about half the price of its f/2.8 cousin, making it a far more pragmatic choice for landscape work. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Iversen.
