A Look at the Canon EOS R3 Mirrorless Camera

The Canon EOS R3 is the most advanced camera the company has ever created, offering some incredible features, like a 195 fps continuous burst rate, making it a compelling option for a wide range of creative applications, particularly sports and wildlife work. This excellent video review takes a look at the camera and the sort of performance and image quality you can expect from it.

Coming to you from Alex Barrera, this great video review takes a look at the Canon EOS R3 mirrorless camera. Though Canon's flagship mirrorless camera, the EOS R1, is still to come, the EOS R3 is a highly powerful camera that can easily satisfy the needs of the vast majority of photographers, with features such as:

  • 24.1-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor
  • Blackout-free shooting
  • Continuous burst rate of up to 195 fps
  • 6K 60p raw video
  • 4K 120p 10-bit video with no crop
  • In-body image stabilization with to eight stops of compensation
  • Eye-controlled autofocus
  • Deep Learning Technology

The one major difference between the EOS R3 and competitors like the Nikon Z 9 and Sony a1 is its lower resolution, though I suspect the forthcoming EOS R1 will close that gap. Nonetheless, it is an impressive camera. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Barrera.

Watching the ATP event in Montreal last week, the cameras grabbed a close up of a couple of the event photographers. One had an R3, the other, a Sony A1. Pretty sure both of them had their 400mm f2.8 lenses on by the look of the front element. Pretty cool!
