Should OM Systems Release an Update to This Impressive Classic Lens?

Not many kit lenses are known for their performance or image quality, but there are a few hidden gems out there that offer quite a lot for not a lot of money. One such example is the Olympus M.Zuiko 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3, and this great video review takes a look at the lens, what makes it great, and why OM Systems should consider an updated version.

Coming to you from Robin Wong, this interesting video review takes a look at the Olympus M.Zuiko 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3. Currently retailing for a little over $200, the 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 is quite an impressive bargain. With an equivalent focal length of 24-100mm, it covers all the most essential focal lengths, making it a great travel partner or walkaround option, especially when you add in the portability of the micro four thirds platform. Add in features like a macro mode and the ability to switch between manual and electronic zoom, and the 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 is a remarkably customizable and versatile lens, particularly at such an affordable price, which makes it a compelling option even today and one that will hopefully see an update eventually. Check out the video above for Wong's full thoughts on the lens.

I feel bad for the micro 4/3 system. They make great cameras and lenses that are often overlooked or completely ignored by everyone. If your not shooting full-frame or medium format, you get little to no coverage. Micro 4/3 offers pro-level bodies, features and glass on a budget friendly scale.
