Is the Sony a7 IV Worth the Upgrade Over the a7 III?

The Sony a7 III was widely lauded as one of the most impressive and well-balanced hybrid cameras ever made, making its successor, the a7 IV, one of the most highly anticipated releases in recent memory. Now that the a7 IV is here, is it worth upgrading from the a7 III or can you stick with what you already have? This great video comparison will help you answer that question.

Coming to you from Julia Trotti, this great video comparison pits the Sony a7 III against the a7 IV. The a7 IV comes with a range of improvements and new features over the a7 III, though even four years later, the a7 III is still an impressively capable camera. Most notable in the a7 IV are the higher sensor resolution and improved skin tones, more advanced autofocus, more capable video features, and the better viewfinder and touchscreen. No doubt, some of the upgrades are must-haves for some users, particularly some video shooters, while for stills photographers, the extra resolution is always a nice feature to have. Nonetheless, you might be satisfied sticking with your a7 III or purchasing one used to save some money. Check out the video above for Trotti's full thoughts.
