What Does $30,000 in Sony Gear Get You?

If you are not keeping an eye on what you're putting in your cart, camera gear can quickly become jaw-droppingly expensive. Still, at those top-tier prices, you can get some absolutely spectacular equipment, and it is awfully fun to see what it can do. This neat video shows what $30,000 spent on Sony's best camera and two best lenses gets you in terms of performance and image quality.

Coming to you from ZY Productions, this fun video shows what you can do with $30,000 in Sony gear, namely the a1 mirrorless cameraFE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens, and FE 600mm f/4 GM OSS lens. At such eye-watering prices, most of us can only watch the video from afar, but if you would truly like to shoot with such lenses, depending on the brand you shoot, remember that there might be several prior generations available for significantly cheaper prices. For example, I could never afford the price of a current-generation Canon 400mm f/2.8 lens, but I got the original EF version with image stabilization for about 30% what the new version would cost. For the most part, image quality is pretty close between the two, with the major difference being weight, but I shoot with a monopod, so that doesn't bother me. The other issue is reparability, as Canon no longer supports my model, but given that it's a top-end professional model, I expect it to last for many years to come with appropriate handling. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
