Carnaval in the Netherlands

February 13, 2018

In the originally Catholic parts of the Netherland, people celebrated and feasted before the Lent. Nowadays, most people aren't religious anymore but there is still a Carnaval tradition.

Cool picture.
Are you happy or sad that people aren’t quiet as religious as they use to be?

Neither. Although I'm kind of religious myself, the catholic church did some really horrible stuff in the past for which they still won't take responsibility. Condemning people for "sins" and doing some really nasty stuff behind closed doors. People were fed up. Still, religion can give meaning to life. Only people and institutions really make a mess of it.
Religion should follow the advice: practice what you preach. Most don't.

Cool, I’m protestant and I’m kind of religious too.

I try to go by, Treat others as you would have them treat you, but sometimes its hard!
