While I was deployed to Italy in 2011, I was given a few day off for Christmas. I decided to spend Christmas in Rome. When I was in Italy a in 2008, I bought a painting of this point of view of the Roman Forum. Everyday I looked at this painting hanging in my house and I told myself if I every get back to Rome I will find this spot and get this image. During the day on Christmas Eve I finally found the correct spot. On Christmas Morning I woke up extra early to get this image at Sunrise. I didn't want the runes to bow in so I set my kit lens (Nikon 18-55mm) to 55mm and took 3 vertical images and then stitched them together in CS4 to create this final image.
