The Making Of A Fun Airline Safety Video With Bear Grylls

This isn't the first time Air New Zealand has made waves across the internet. While their previous safety video featured hobbits, elves, and wizards in a Lord of the Rings inspired piece, this new video features wilderness survival talent Bear Grylls. In this behind the scenes video, you can get a closer look at the conditions and locations the crew had to work around, while having a fun time even while trying to keep warm on the mountaintop. Check the BTS, then click on for the final video!

Here's the final video:

Taking the time to actually create a fun and engaging video seems to be a very worthwhile project. I don't know about you, but I'm generally pretty checked out on flights when the crew goes over safety protocols. These fun and lively videos are a great way to not only entertain but inform passengers, and it's great to see Air New Zealand putting their money into it. Have you seen any fun safety videos, besides this classic?

Let the Bear Grylls hate begin....

What kills me is that he does such a fantastic job narrating and then you watch some of the things he does and it is just absurd... IE I recently saw him scale some absurd pipeline structure, make a monkeys fist out of a chain and campus climb over the lip... then proceed into a tunnel only having to turn around and leap out as a train approached.  I was laughing out loud... but crying inside :(

Morena Baccarin lookalike :)

lol @ those kids

Bear Grylls is awesome.

HAHA! The Scouts!

Awesome, Delta did a great job updating theirs as well
