In his first ever published book Behind The Scenes, photographer Patrick Van Dam creates thoughtful juxtapositions out of snapshots taken behind the scenes on playmate photo-shoots. According to Van Dam's website there are "over 150 photos of unexpected, undirected and natural responses; humor, disillusionment, absurdism and vulnerability in an erotic setting."

Dam worked for Dutch Playboy for seven years directing nude shoots which is how he was able to gain access to create the images in Behind The Scenes, as reported by Featureshoot. The large black bound book's foreword was written by editor-in-chief Hugh Hefner ""In these compelling images, Patrick has captured the soul of the Playboy shoot and offered a true celebration of, and homage to, the people who make these beautiful things happen. Vividly here is the intimacy, the fun, and the dedication it takes to create the very best in contemporary erotica. And along the way, true to his calling, he gives the reader a peek behind the curtain of the Playboy lifestyle."

Why is there soo much bootycrack from the wrong people in these images? =)

Crack kills.

Lol...glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking that... ;-)

skinny jeans.

Fat guys cramming their junk into too small clothes... = Yuck!

I wonder if they retouch the surgical scars fro the breast implants, or is that a status symbol nowadays?

The most recent pair I got to see were inserted via her armpits to avoid scarring in more visible areas.

yep!

Thank youuuuu science!

But I beleive their is a maximum of volume they can put in with this method..

It's inserted empty and filled in place.

-They do. I have seen one pic that was farther back and you could see them under the over hang of the breasts but this shot was with her arms over her head and breasts lifted enough you could see the scars. But on all the other close up shots with arms raised no scars. Im sure they do this for the women as well as themselves. You are looked at better if you have naturally large breasts. To have implants and have people know for some women makes them feel insecure. Most women though afterwards have a huge boost in self esteem. But most women dont pose nude either. So only close friends and family would know.

-There are some really good jobs done out there and some horrible ones too. The bad ones are easy to spot in a heart beat. Whether b/c they look like lopsided misshapen balloons or they have large scars. The best ones have smaller scars in better places and b/c the doctor is better at doing smaller stitches it will look more natural. It depends on the type of breast but some are done by cutting and following the line of the areola or brown circle, you can hide these better sometimes if they are big areolas. Others are under the breast and as often as possible under the fold like said above. Some are through the armpits as mentioned above but the "fillable" saline implants are only so big. For smaller or flatter women it is harder to get bigger implants b/c they dont have enough skin to work with and you can see the scars far more than on a larger women. The only exeptions being mothers that have breast fed their children. They started out having larger breasts but after multiple kids they get smaller and smaller. In this case they have a larger cavity to work with and could go from flat chested to B's or even C's depending on what they used to be and get away with it not looking like lopsided balloons

I'd never touch a model like he is in that last photograph. Call me old school but clothes off, hands off.

I do nude work, it's very situational. I rarely have to touch anyone, but sometimes they need a help up or down, hell once I needed to carry someone.... sh*t happens and if you build trust and don't be a creepy GWC, giving a helping hand is a non-issue.

If you know them I guess there are situations where its ok but definitely agree.

Yeah, I got absolutely nothing from that behind the scenes.

The only behind the scenes was his butt crack

I know the response comment is gonna be "Why did you look at this post then…", Its only to comment. Fstoppers is much classier than this post. Don't know why this garbage is posted in this blog.

Like. Great take from a different perspective

I don't understand how it is tolerated for the guy with the ass crack to touch a naked girl on set especially that close to her VJ... Seems creepy and unprofessional

Peter Hurley?
