This is a wide angle composite image of the entire total eclipse from downtown Plattsburgh, New York. When planning for this I knew I wanted something that would be a little different than the typical eclipse shots and I wanted to somehow incorporate the city in my shot. Using the Photopills app it looked like the eclipse would line up pretty well with the McDonough Monument in downtown Plattsburgh. Thankfully, Photopills was correct.

To make this image I used a single frame from totality. Then I blended in the different phases of the sun/moon using the lighten blend mode in photoshop. I also used the transform tool around the eclipse path to make it look more realistic. As shooting at 16mm the path was much smaller in the frame. To me, this is more what it actually looked like to the eye.

nice composition and good effort. I'd like to have seen the foreground be a long exposure given that the "subject" is a timelapse concept. having the people in focus distracts from the eclipse.

IDK I disagree. I could have easily removed them in photoshop. I chose to keep them because I wanted to have the element of people enjoying the eclipse. I get why some people may not like them but to me it's not distracting at all.
