David & JPEG

I was invited to the East London home of David and his dog JPEG to make a series of editorial portraits. With wooden floors and an abundance of plant life, their flat provided a beautiful setting for the portraits.

I asked David to hang out with JPEG and go about their day the way they would do on a lazy Sunday spend indoors together. That way, I got to capture the natural and intimate relationship of the pair, with minimal direction.

The light pouring in through the sash windows created amazing light patterns on the walls around the flat, so I decided to use that as my basis for exposure. I exposed for the light patterns, which gave a dramatic sense of light and shade to the final image here.
