Bruton Stroube Studios sets up a beautiful breakfast only to throw it into the air and film it in super slow motion. It’s obvious that a lot of planning went into such a simple concept but it was worth all of the effort. Check out the BTS first and then the finished product below that.

I agree with @facebook-756844088:disqus the videography and quality is superb but I would have like to have seen other subjects being used, not food! Especially I am so hungry now working into the night! Everything looked so delicious. Shame it went to waste. Good concept, excellent execution, maybe next time try inanimate objects? Thanks! :)

Just because I love to stir the pot and get people arguing here is my rant :)
I think its absurd that people should complain about wasting food. Food like anything else is a commodity. Which breaks down to money. Look at any production and you will find commodities ”wasted” for entertainment, art or educational sake. Take an exploding car in a movie for example. That car could be converted to money and that money to food. A heck of a lot more food than was on that table but few people would complain about blowing up that car for a scene. I bet you could spend a day with anyone and point out “waste” that no one even blinks at.

Something to note about food photography is that a large amount of food usually does get wasted in the process of getting the shot. I attended a food photography talk a few years ago where the photographer dissected a hamburger still shoot for an ad. There were over 200 buns on set and correspondingly other ingredients to have 200 hamburgers ready for the shoot. Very extravagant wastage but they needed every last pixel to be perfect. I’m not quite sure what is done of the food that’s not used as there were quite a few inedible products used in the process of making the burger “look” delicious in the picture.
