Your Duo shoot experiences..?

What has been your experience of duo or multiple model shoots?

I have only done two duo shoots - well a third that was a group shoot/workshop. The group shoot was actually my first landscape artnude shoot, which is now my preferred style of artnude i.e. I much prefer this to studio shoots.

The shots here are from the shoot with Fanny Muller and Riley Jade and it was one of those shoots where I knew I was getting amazing images with 2 fantastic models. This was the first time these two had worked together (and the only time, I think, as of mid 2020).
I think I was lucky in that the models were of similar build and also in their athletic ability - both having dance backgrounds. Also the fact that they worked together so naturally, with usually little input from me. My main input was finding interesting locations and capturing the images.

Anyway - I would love see your duo images and hear about your duo shoots.

The first image is particularly strong in my opinion, Damian.

Artillery Rocks & Otways your main haunts?

Thanks Chris, I love that one too. For this shoot only. It is a long drive from Melb. but I hope to shoot there again with a model/s.

AR is a favourite photo destination for me. Been to all the Otways falls I can find, but apparently there are 180 of them! Where's the fall featured in your portfolio (if you don't want to keep it secret, which I'd quite understand)?

Yeah there are a lot falls down there - I have only been to a few. A good resource for falls is the series of books by Travis Easton 'Melbourne's Waterfalls' - beautiful photos and lots of detailed info, esp. Vol 3 Eastern Waterfalls. The series is
subtitled 314 Waterfalls within 100 Km of Melbourne, so it doesn't include the Otways.

Thanks, Damian! Didn't know about that. I'll check it out.

Beautiful images, Damian. I really love the ones with the rocks along the shore. The way you worked the models into this particular landscape is exceptional! The photo of the two models crossing the log is another favorite. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thanks Jeff! I wish I could claim the credit for the posing but it was all due to the two fantastic models.

These are beautiful and exactly the kind of images I'd like to produce. We don't have this kind of landscape in central Florida, though. LOL

Thanks so much! You do have the Cypress swamps which I find fascinating and would love to explore.

Hi Damian. Among the images shared, my perception was attracted towards the frames having the shapes merged with context. 2nd and 6th image are particularly interesting.
thanks

Thanks Vijay. That is a fascinating way to view the images and also landscape artnude in general - there are so many styles and variations possible in this genre.

Wow !!! These are all very creative, nicely done.

Beautiful images. I particularly love the ones with the rock formations. I agree with your comment about similar build and ability. However, I have also shot with models with different physical attributes. Importantly, the models also need to have a compatible personality, otherwise, they may not work well together. Especially if it's the first time that they are posing together. If you're working with male/female combination, then other factors must be considered. Many models usually prefer to work with their partners or someone that they know. Check out the latest issue of ION (issue 21). Jayden Byrne has a duo shoot feature, and I did one with Gwen and Denisa.

Thanks Stephen. That's a good point about the non-physical aspect and compatibility, esp. with 2 models - it's something I think I need be more conscious of in shoots - and that feature with Jayden is a fantastic example of emotion and connection. I love your feature too - and the way you describe it, and the beautiful images, I can almost see Denisa & Gwen in a slow dance during the shoot. Fantastic work and another inspiring issue of ION.

Thanks, Damian.

Jamie, and Lauren

Just worked with Lauren 2 weeks ago. Lovely young lady.

I've worked with Lauren about four times. Really fun time. I've worked with Jamie about eight times. She is great to work with, also.
