This image was taken for an altered optics assignment in my college photography course. I chose to use a magnifying glass to alter how the light appears in the image. I used photoshop to crop, but otherwise this is straight out of the camera.
I really love the pull and energy that you get from the light and how the light seems to be shooting up out of the sink. It almost has a "extraterrestrial" feel as if something is being lifted up into the atmosphere. The image gives a scene that's boring and domestic (a kitchen sink full of dirty dishes) a sci-fi mystery feel and I love that.
