10 Great Hacks for Using the New Rode Wireless GO Microphones

The Rode Wirelss GO Compact Digital Wireless microphones have been a bit of a game-changer when it comes to ease of recording audio. This short video gives you ten excellent ideas of how to make the most from this very affordable piece of gear.

You may recall that Fstoppers’ own Lee Morris was blown away by the convenience and quality of the new Rode Wireless Go microphones — not to mention the price. More expensive options may well give you better audio quality but at only $200 a pair, the performance and flexibility definitely seem hard to match.

In this short video, Caleb Pike of DSLR Video Shooter runs you through ten ways of getting even more value. Pike’s innovative use of mixers is definitely worth investigating, but my favorite is probably his idea for creating a wireless, handheld microphone for interviews. And Pike is right: these microphones are so versatile that they’re rapidly becoming the default choice for run-and-gun shooters everywhere.

There are some limitations on how well they perform when objects appear between the transmitter and the receiver, so it’s worth doing some research and considering how you’ll be using them before you pull the trigger.
