Serendipity

I met Tegan by chance in a retail outlet, then again in a cafe, we got to talking about steampunk and how she loved clothes and style - same! I offered to photograph her and she rocked up with a few looks a week or so later that I had no idea about. I had set up a Mamiya RZ67 , a Hassy 500C and a bunch of lenses and a phase one H20 back, all tested and working ; first shot, Mamiya, camera failed, mechanically stuck, switched to Hassy, jammed solid - Damn ! - 6pm, studio gets dark, very few lights in a 100 year old studio, back up camera is a Canon classic 5D - it's new to me, so I'm unfamiliar and I can't change the aperture, so I'm stuck on F25 the whole shoot !! Great styling, posing and make-up by her, no-one assisting. Woody the studio dog saunters in, un-commanded and completes the foreground. One of my favourite shoots and shots.
