The Spirit of Ethan Allen III is docked for the winter near the Leahy Center in Burlington, Vermont on Lake Champlain. On this day it was a chilly -15 degrees F and the lake had not yet frozen. The surface of the relatively warm water was like a coffee cup, throwing up a wall of steam that gave this scene an ominous and dramatic look
