This was a shoot I did as a kind of experiment. It ended up being used as a catalog cover. I wanted to shoot a Koi Pond with the sword, but I wanted to control it in the studio. It's kind of an illusion. The "pond" is actually a back lit transparency, with styrofoam painted "rock" tops and plastic resin "water". Everything was complete still life, so I could adjust the lighting etc. This was shot on 4X5 transparency film before the days of digital.
