Ethereal Fazersuomi marmelade

Photo of a yellow @fazersuomi marmelade.

This candy is a classic here in Finland (although usually consumed in its original green color). It is spherical and you can peel it into these two halves (which is actually really satisfying).

This image was created from 5 different stacks each containing 19 images. I used Elinchrom flashes with fiberoptic attachments, a few tight snoots and some reflectors. This was shot with a Canon 5ds and the 100mm 2.8L macro.

Capturing the different images for focus stacking was done with an automated focus stacking rail by Stackshot. Images were combined with Helicon focus.
When you blend focus stacked images together(of macro products), it is key to have them done by an automated system and not by hand so that the start and end positions are the same.

The spark was shot separately by pricking small holes through a golden aluminium foil and lighting it from behind.

This was shot at my studio with @jarihuddphotography. We regulary shoot personal stuff with each other and show each other secrets from the areas of photography that we know the best.
