On Wednesday, June 17, over 2,000 deputies, officers, and first responders from across California filled Cabrillo’s Carl Conelly Stadium to honor Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Damon Gutzwiller. Gutzwiller, 38, was killed in the line of duty June 6 after a man ambushed Gutzwiller and another officer in Ben Lomond.
