Sunrise at Yosemite Valley

Yosemite valley is one of the most photographed places in the world, so while this is not an original view, my take was to photograph a compressed panorama of vertical images at 70mm on a Canon 5dsr to maximize resolution and give me better compositional control (I was standing shoulder to shoulder with about 30 other photographers). I wanted the photo look grand and imposing (like how I felt when I first saw it with my eyes) vs. shooting a single frame with a wide angle lens which would waste most of the resolution on sky, which in this case wasn’t very interesting. The finished stitch is almost 17,000 pixels wide, which means this could be printed 6’ at 300dpi with no upsizing. Now I just need to find a wall big enough to put it!
