Sunrise in Godafoss

This photo was taken during a trip around Iceland. I remember that that morning I was not expecting a great sky. The forecast gave some cloudiness, but it did not seem that the sky that could find that morning was going to be spectacular. However, you never know what you can find, and even less in a country like Iceland. I got up early, long before dawn, and went to a point that the previous afternoon I thought might be interesting, since the light would come in from my right and hit the waterfall.

As I imagined, the sky did not seem to me that it was going to be the spectacular that I would have liked, but the truth is that I had underestimated the beauty of a waterfall as imposing as Godafoss totally surrounded by snow.
As the minutes went by, the sky, and with it, the few clouds that were placed in my frame, began to turn a pink color that, together with the bluish tone of the water that fell from the waterfall, made my face show a smile that grew along with the joy of knowing that I had been wrong, because, in Iceland, it is always worth having a great early start, even if the predictions tell you that it is not worth it
