Police in riot gear

After Javier Milei won the presidential elections of Argentina in December 2023, a number of protests erupted after the newly elected president decided to implement a DNU (necessity and urgency decree) which would allow employers to terminate workers without providing a reasonable justification, food prizes to rise above the inflation value and more. The local synidcates (especially CGT and CTA), on December 27th, launched a general strike and a March in front of the Buenos Aires' court, defying Bullrich's protocol that prohibited any type of public demonstration. Thousands of people gathered and in some cases, violence erupted which caused police to fire tear gas.
