'Sunwapta' is a word from the Indigenous Stoney language that means 'turbulent water'. It is a perfect description of these falls which drop over 60 feet into the pool below.
This morning revealed a rare mixture of beautiful light, mist, fog and low clouds flowing through the mountain valley.
Equally rare is the perfect left and right symmetry of the island, trees, river and falls, unlike any scene I have witnessed before.
