lo-tide

This photo was shot on the reef at the end of the road in Mokuleia. I took my family on an adventure to watch the sunset and have a relaxing afternoon and got super lucky with the tides. I hurried out about 50 yards out on the reef and I had enough time to shoot five frames at this location before the tide started coming in. In a hurry I started rushing back to shore and turned around and saw a wave approaching and just stopped and held my camera and tripod up and wished for the best. After a few stumbles trying to get catch my balance after the wave hit, I luckily escaped without damaging my gear or hurting myself. The adrenalin rush felt like back when i skated handrails.
